The lesson “Plants I Can Eat” is part 26 of a 44 part series on human development, family, health, and safety. This lesson teaches about nutrition and edible versus non-edible plants. This resource includes a lesson plan for the teacher on how to prepare beforehand, class-time content to facilitate learning, hands-on activities facilitating further learning, and a teacher assessment at the end. There is also an alternative lesson if supplies are available. This lesson is designed for a group of young children between the ages of 3 and 5, and is the twenty-sixth physical development lesson in the Core Curriculum, 3-5 years, Year Two.
