Developmental mindset - a great shift towards local sustainability of their own children and youth programs and allowing FCPs to do what they can do for themselves. Taking care that you do not incapacitate people.Taking moments of reflection and asking ourselves "are our actions or words empowering or dis-empowering ?What local solutions do FCPs have for their defined problems ? What do we need to stop doing as we serve the front line church partners?

To foster a Developmental mindset, we have had to let go of certain decisions in the hands of the Partners especially on decisions of selecting, disciplining staff, mobilizing more resources independent of Compassion, acquiring other networks and alliances as well as utilizing their potential to manage their ministry challenges through Qavah and other local means of resource mobilization. This is still ongoing, it does not come easy but the Church is confident and moving steadily to attain the desired end. The role of the PF is to continue to support and fan the fire, enlighten the Partner where there are greater opportunities and the church takes lead in their own efforts. Not doing for the partners what they can do for themselves and encouraging them to do those things on their own is very empowering.

The more we study about the developmental mindset, the more we are able to move from head knowledge, to believing it and then to living it out.
