The lesson “I Can Properly Take Care of My Food” is part 21 of a 42 part series on parts of the human body, health, and safety. This lesson focuses on identifying healthy food practices, like washing fruits and vegetables, and washing hands before touching food. This resource includes a lesson plan for the teacher on how to prepare beforehand, class-time content to facilitate learning, hands-on activities facilitating further learning, and a teacher assessment at the end. This lesson is designed for a group of young children between the ages of 3 and 5, and is the twenty-first physical development lesson in the Core Curriculum, 3-5 years, Year One.
