The role of the church in nurturing children.

Otia A. posted 6 years, 3 months ago
Sunday school is a place where children love to go every Sunday. For some it is a routine imposed on them by their parents, for others it is to sing melodious songs, others is to pray while others are just escorting their older siblings to pray. Much as there is a strong desire by many parents to spiritually nurture their children, many drop out of their spiritual path and by the time they are teenagers or adults, the lives they are leading are wanting. The church therefore has to come in and be close to this children so that they are trained on biblical doctrines so that when they grow up, they would not depart from them. The church is supposed to advise the caregivers of the children good manners from home. Children mostly learn many things from their parents when they are still young. so parents have a role to play as well.

The church can help children to stay grounded, avoid falling into bad habits and guide them throughout their childhood. The church should be missional with children. Discipling children can also lead to invites to those outside the church.
Create spaces for children to participate in church life.
