This module has a lot of 'food for thought'. I realize I have many role models and the Best role model on developmental mindset is Jesus, who I can refer to as I engage with the partners. As I facilitate, equip the partners and build relationships, developmental mindset is the way to go. The earlier the partners realize this the quicker they will get to great ownership, local resource mobilisation, and great impact in their communities.

I have learnt a lot of lessons on developmental mindset - a paradigm shift from dependency syndrome that has characterized our programs for a long time.
The new thinking leads to ownership and i have witnessed this from FCPs that we started of with Qavah training three to five years ago. They are way ahead of the old FCPs in their way of thinking and carrying out children and youth ministry in terms of ownership and attainment of beneficiary, partnership and supporter outcomes.Their perspective towards holistic children and youth development is totally different and they look for solutions from within and local resource mobilization.

This module has helped to shape my thinking, attitude and approaches to facilitation. In the upcoming FY21 Partner planning session, my approach will be different. Without Developmental thinking, encouraging creativity then the partners continue to be crippled. It is therefore important that i keep them focused on their context, encourage on local resource mobilization, i will be more keen to ensure that the beneficiaries participate in their own planning and implementation as well as on going evaluation of their program. That kind of approach will be promoting self reliance among the beneficiaries.
